Political lean: words vs. votes (independent AI assessment)
Two separate AI assessments, each shown only one side and never the other — one reads just what they're promising, the other reads just their actual votes — so any gap between the two is an independent signal, not a model grading its own homework.

Position Community Representation
“You can't win without winning over these folks that are leaders in the Vietnamese community, leaders in the Hispanic community, and talking about the issues that are important to them.”
ABC7 Los Angeles · 2026-03-18
-
Position Cost of Living & Foreign Policy
“My constituents has already been really stressed with prices at the grocery store and the gas pump. Now that extra 40, 50 cents a gallon is driving them with more anxiety, with more stress. It's not right — all because we're entering into a war that we should have never been part of.”

Position Cost of Living & Tax Policy
“While prices skyrocket due to President Trump's reckless war in Iran and irresponsible tariff policies, working families are under an immense amount of stress as they struggle to make ends meet. For service workers, tips are essential to putting food on the table, handling everyday expenses, and providing for their loved ones. I'm a proud cosponsor of the TIPS Act because it creates a measurable economic impact for service workers and their families in Southern California — putting more money in their pockets and strengthening their financial futures.”

Promise Housing & Cost of Living
“Housing costs across the country, especially in Southern California have reached a breaking point. Families are barely scraping by to pay rent, let alone save for the future. This bill would provide immediate, tangible relief to renters in need, helping them keep a roof over their heads, provide more room in their budgets for everyday expenses, or even save to buy a home. I am proud to lead this effort on behalf of all American families.”

Position National Security & Government Accountability
“Our servicemembers and their families deserve better than political games, and, as a Veteran, I cannot in good conscience vote for the bill in this form.”
Press release · 2026-07-22

Promise Veterans & National Security
“The medical evacuation unit at Joint Forces Training Base Los Alamitos is a critical asset for emergency and disaster relief missions, serving communities across Southern California. Deactivating these flying units without a clear plan for how the service intends to fill the capability gap will hurt our communities at home and diminish our readiness to respond to global conflicts. The soldiers and civilians impacted by this drawdown have not been given meaningful options to continue their service. Trained pilots and experienced personnel are leaving the force because they have not been given a clear plan for their futures. We have invested so much in training and equipping highly qualified service members, and now we are letting them walk away. I am proud to introduce the bipartisan Prohibit Deactivation of the ECABs Act to ensure that the Department of Defense presents a credible plan to recapitalize these capabilities, retain this expertise, and ensure that our military readiness remains at its peak.”
