Position Disaster relief funding
“Pursuant to action taken by President Biden and at least not rescinded by President Trump, the federal government is providing $7 billion to California, including well over half the cost of rebuilding Palisades High School. But Trump is doing everything to avoid spending a penny. Under Biden, there were supplemental appropriations to help the people hurt by Hurricane Ida, Hurricane Ian, the Maui fires, Hurricane Helene, and Hurricane Milton. Under Trump, there has been no supplemental appropriation to help the victims of Texas, Florida, the Eaton Fire, or the Palisades Fire, or any of the disasters that occurred in 2025. Not one penny. The President issues an executive order which is clearly unconstitutional and a nullity as an excuse for not providing a supplemental appropriation, which would put money in the pockets of uninsured disaster victims.”

Position Foreign policy/Iran sanctions
“Since 1979, the Islamic Republic of Iran has waged a campaign of terror against the world and its own people. It has orchestrated the murder of thousands of Americans—directly and through its network of terrorist proxies. It has slaughtered tens of thousands of Iranian protesters and dissidents, and its meddling has collapsed nations across the region from Syria to Yemen. The crushing weight of U.S. sanctions — many of which I authored — has been one of our most effective tools for depriving this regime of the resources it uses to wage war against America and our allies. President Trump's agreement to provide the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran with $300 billion in so-called "reconstruction funds", lift U.S. sanctions, and pressure Israel into standing down against Hezbollah is a betrayal. This deal does more than throw the regime a lifeline. It would hand the Islamic Republic the funds to revive Hamas and Hezbollah and restart the cycle of endless war in the region. The Islamic Republic of Iran chants 'Death to America'. President Trump's response should not be to provide them with $300 billion.”

Position Healthcare/government shutdown
“This is a bad deal. I will be voting no. It will cause the healthcare premiums of 22 million people to double or even triple. A promise to hold a vote on healthcare premiums in the Senate is irrelevant, since Speaker Mike Johnson won't allow a vote in the House.”
