Position Government Shutdown
“In September, I voted to avoid the Schumer Shutdown. Tonight, I proudly joined my colleagues in voting to put an end to it. While I'm glad a handful of Senate Democrats finally came to their senses and broke away from Chuck Schumer, this shutdown was entirely avoidable and went on far too long. Over the last 42 days our families have faced uncertainty, workers have gone unpaid, and our economy has been damaged all because Democrats wanted to use Americans' suffering as political leverage. I hope moving forward they recognize that this decision was reckless and grossly irresponsible. I look forward to picking up where we left off and continuing to deliver for the people of Illinois' 16th District.”

Position National Defense
“The FY2027 NDAA strengthens our national security, provides the men and women who serve our country with the resources they require, and improves our ability to counter the malign actions of bad actors around the world. With ever-evolving threats and foreign adversaries constantly working to undermine and harm the United States, this bill ensures that our military and intelligence community have the tools they need to handle any threat. I was proud to support the inclusion of the SAVE America Act to bolster our election integrity, which goes hand in hand with strengthening our national security. I will always vote for legislation that keeps Americans safe and supports the brave men and women who protect our freedoms and our nation.”

Position Tax Policy
“The House Ways and Means Committee voted to provide hardworking Americans, seniors, small businesses, and farmers with much-needed and immediate tax relief. For two years, Chairman Smith and Committee Republicans have been working tirelessly to craft a bill that will drive investments throughout our communities. This legislation delivers on the promises that Republicans and President Trump made to the American people, including no tax on tips, increasing the child tax credit, advancing research and development, and making the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act's historic tax cuts permanent. It is critical that Congress pass the One, Big, Beautiful Bill as soon as possible to give rocket fuel to the United States' economy.”
