Position Constitutional literacy / governance
“When our nation's leaders assume office, they swear an oath to serve the American people and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. This solemn promise ensures the safety and well-being of our country and its citizens. It is crucial that our representatives deeply understand this oath. Therefore, passing this legislation is vital to confirm that our leaders are knowledgeable about the Constitution and American history. A solid grasp of this understanding is key to safeguarding American values. Without knowledge of history, the mistakes of the past are likely to be repeated.”
