Position Re-election announcement / governing priorities
“I am so honored and so proud to represent Texas' Seventh Congressional District. This district represents the best of our community and our country-a welcoming, inclusive, innovative, and collaborative place where no idea is too small and no challenge is too big. It was my knowledge of and faith in these community values that inspired my first campaign for Congress in 2018 and that continue to guide my decision to seek re-election. Once again, we are facing challenging and uncertain times for our community and our country. This Congress has failed to do the serious and hard work of governing-deferring to the White House time and again, refusing to do the work the people of this country need and deserve to make life more affordable and the American dream more achievable, and failing to defend the very principles and protections in our Constitution. Now more than ever we need to send to Congress leaders who are committed to doing the work we need and protecting the values we share as Americans. I am honored to have the support and partnership of so many community leaders and organizations in this work. I will continue to bring people together to do the important work ahead to defend our democracy, ensure equality, and restore our rights, all of which are on the ballot in 2026.”

Position Redistricting / voting rights
“The Supreme Court failed to reach the right result in its decision to stay the district court's well-reasoned opinion enjoining the use of the congressional map Texas enacted in 2025 while the case of LULAC v. Abbott proceeds. The district court heard evidence on this map for nine days and found overwhelming, clear, and direct evidence of unconstitutional racial gerrymandering. The district court's order to use the map Texas enacted in 2021-the congressional map currently in effect-while the case moves through the courts is the most practical and fair path forward at this time.”
